Three Reasons to Write Your Book with AI Instead of a Professional Writer

You should not work with me to write your book if:
You are not concerned with top quality. You just want a book as a business card, not a legacy.
Not everyone truly cares about how well written their book is, or if it truly captures them as a person. This is especially true if your book is more about your expertise than about you.
AI can absolutely crank out a generic book on ten lessons you learned about anything, or the top five tips you received from billionaire mentors, or whatever your schtick is. You might not necessarily want a best written book. You just want something to toss up on your website and use as a lead magnet. You don’t expect anyone to actually read your book. Or, if they do, you are cool with them not being wowed with the experience. It’s fine if your book has a couple sentences here and there that sound like someone who isn’t fluent in your language has written. No one will care because everyone uses AI now and everyone understands that those things happen. Overall it will read pretty well and that’s good enough for your purposes.
The human connection doesn’t matter to you.
It’s old school. Like VCRs and phones that are attached to a wall. Or 2G wifi. In fact, you absolutely believe AI is better at writing than a human. That there’s no point in doing it yourself anymore. I mean, AI pulls from all of the internet, right? So the content it creates is actually from content humans write. At least, until so many AI written books are published that all books are just like taking the same vacation every year, but going with different people. You still have fun. It’s still a beautiful spot and a relaxing experience but there is nothing new about it. And that’s absolutely cool with you.
AI is cheaper and faster than working with a human writer.
No argument there. Just like a drive through burger as opposed to a steakhouse meal. You can have 50 pages written probably in less time than it takes you to read this article. So why wouldn’t you choose speed and convenience?
Even if you have Michelin restaurant taste, you can’t get that Michelin experience on a Burger King budget. Not everyone can afford to work with a professional writer. And not everyone has the time or patience to figure out more budget friendly options to working with a professional writer, than having them write the whole book for them. You’re fine with never experiencing the white glove treatment, creating a new professional relationship that often leads to expanding your network and building new opportunities. You know exactly what your book should be and you are one hundred percent confident that AI will be just as good at revealing those golden nuggets of information, insight, or expertise you rarely talk about as the human being who looks you in the eye for hours and whom you develop a deep connection with.
I often joke that I wish I had different gifts. It would be much easier for me to love software design, or to have been good at science so I could have been the small animal vet like I wanted to be growing up. Anything, really, but writing and being good with animals. But after years of trying to find “me” doing all those other things that provide regular paycheck and routine schedules, I finally acknowledged the stupidity of doing so.
Life is, really, far too short and special to be so unhappy. And God didn’t give us each our gifts just so we could ask for an exchange. How rude is that!
Writing is not an easy arena to find success in. But I would not choose any other path for myself right now. Even with the launch of AI, and all the others in the arena with me. Because not all of us are gladiators.
For kicks, I decided to make things a little more fun and go for my dream of turning my fiction book, How to Woo a Widow, into a film.
I cannot imagine AI writing that book or screenplay. I cannot conceive of using AI instead of real people to act in this film. Even if it would be unnoticeable to people.
Because we have already lost so much of the personal touch in this world. We have to preserve the human connection, before it’s just something AI tells our grandkids about.
