background

From Tragedy To Triumph

Barbara Allens’ first husband Lou Allen was killed in Iraq by another American soldier. Their four boys were just 6,5,3,and 1 year old. Lou’s loss was compounded by the shocking manner of his death and the aftermath became one of the most controversial cases in military history.

Amply blessed with family and friends, Barbara pieced her life back together and developed a network that spans the country. Not even Barb’s worst mistakes overpowered her greatest triumphs as she learned valuable lessons from these experiences, and enhanced her personal and professional worth..

These lessons have allowed her to become Grief’s Worst Enemy.

Today Barbara Allen is an award-winning author and professional writer. Barb has also interviewed over 250 of this country’s top entrepreneurs, genuine heroes, and everyday Americans creating massive impact in their communities.

She has starred in a music video and appeared on multiple national platforms, live stages, and podcasts. She is also featured in books by Taya Kyle and Marie Cosgrove. Her book, How to Woo a Widow is now being adapted for film.

Barbara Allen’s combination of inspiration, humor, and proven results-oriented strategies add up to an experience your people will thank you for repeatedly, and never forget!

Signature Keynotes / Topics

How to apply the stages of grief to every day adversity: This presentation pulls the curtain back not just on grieving the loss of someone we love, but all adversity from small upsets to catastrophic events. Your attendees will be equipped with a new awareness that allows them to meet adversity from a place of strength and swiftly process the everyday upsets that otherwise distract or discourage them. Applying five common stages of grief ( and the two stages no one else talks about!) to everyday life will position your attendees to fly past setbacks and identify opportunity.

The power of proximity: This presentation empowers audiences to recognize the relationships that lift them up, and those that pull them down. A simple formula applied to all relationships will give your attendees new clarity on how to create personal and professional boundaries without the guilt, and how to understand the way they show up in other people’s lives, too.

Parenting through pain: Learn how to exhale and be present with your children in spite of adversity. Whether it’s professional or personal pain you are navigating, or whether a tragedy or setback is impacting your entire family, this presentation will empower you to find grace and strength in parenting your children through it.
