This Isn’t Just My Story. It’s Ours

Barb Allen Speaks

Why I’m launching a campaign to bring How to Woo a Widow to life

Next month marks 20 years since Lou was killed in Iraq.

20 years since my life shattered.
20 years since I had to figure out how to live a story I never wanted to write.

But in that time, I’ve found strength in storytelling.

Mine, and yours. I’ve written through grief, walked alongside others in theirs, and done my best to help people turn pain into purpose.

Now, I’m asking for your help to do it on a bigger scale.
I’ve written How to Woo a Widow -a heartfelt, hilarious, healing film -and I’m raising funds to bring it to life.

This will be the greatest chick flick of our generation.

I promise.

But it also has plenty for men to love about it, too.

Because grief and heartache hit us all, and we all face the challenge of healing broken hearts, whether you want to admit it or not!

I have a lot of special touches planned to make the making of this film just as special as the film itself.

So,

If I’ve ever helped you tell your story, get unstuck, or find your voice…
If my writing or speaking has ever helped you heal, laugh, or feel seen…

If you’ve ever lost someone you love and wondered how on earth you’d ever feel joy again…

Please consider donating or sharing this campaign.

And sharing it.

Let’s bring this film into the world together.

I will share the GoFund Me link tomorrow morning.

Every little bit helps. And I’ll keep track of all donations- when it comes time to invite people to take part in filming, this list will be the first thing I go to!

Make today a beautiful one, and I’ll be back tomorrow!
